The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and ensuring accurate and timely reporting for our consulting firm. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of up to five dedicated finance staff and contribute to the company's overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to provide key insights for decision-making.
The Controller will:
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, budgets, and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and monitor adherence.
• Conduct financial forecasting to provide guidance on resource allocation and business planning. • Analyze budget variations and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
Financial Management:
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with external auditors and coordinate audits to ensure compliance.
Cash Flow Management:
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements to maintain optimal financial health.
• Implement cash management policies and strategies to optimize working capital.
• Identify and evaluate financial risks and implement strategies to minimize exposure.
Team Leadership:
• Supervise and mentor a team of up to 5 finance staff, providing guidance and support.
• Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing training. • Foster a positive work culture, promote teamwork, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.
• Previous experience in a consulting firm or professional services industry is preferred.
